Shades of Dawn Release

Shades of Dawn is an animated miniseries developed by the Association of Broken Concepts, and that is currently in production. ABC (Association of Broken Concepts) is a conglomeration founded by Mataconarte and The Folsom Project to work with other emerging artists to create a variety of projects, ranging from songs and album releases, to short films and web or print comics.

After years of distance, San Francisco detective Hudson Bradford finally gets in touch with his daughter after a terrible incident that will lead him to renounce his position in order to help his daughter evade justice.

The project was co created with The Folsom Project and Brenda Los. The character design, storyboard, color script, background design, prop design, fx animation and character animation was developed and produced by Mataconarte. The sound design, casting, and recording of all the audio was developed and supervised by The Folsom Project. The project is being developed entirely in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe After Effects.

The style is heavily inspired by early 2000’s kids animation from Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon. The point was to reappropriate the style that many young adults would recognize from their childhood but appealing to the type of stories this audience is consuming nowadays.
